Named after the nearby Jordan River, the limits of the city begin on the river's western bank and end in the eastern foothills of the Oquirrh Mountains, where Kennecott Copper Mine, the world's largest man-made excavation is located. West Jordan is home to amazing shopping centers, such as Gardner Village and Jordan Landing. Jordan Landing features a wide variety of retail shopping, several fast food and family restaurants. Jordan Landing is also the location of Utah's largest cinema by number of screens, a 24-screen Cinemark theater. Gardner Village will WOW you with the brick-lined paths and 22 boutique-style, locally-owned shops surrounding the historic Gardner Mill. Gardner Village hosts yearly events that include each October with the popular WitchFest, elves during Christmas, and Woodland Fairies in the spring. In addition, Gardner Village guests can schedule to host a meeting or wedding at The Gathering Place or Mill Plaza event spaces.
